Guest Speakers -
Laura Abujudeh & Carlos Lopez
from Trinity Youth Services

Carlos & Laura will provide information on Trinity Youth services & what they do as an agency.  They will discuss the need for quality families to help foster youth in out of home care and the possibility of providing “forever homes” to youth through adoption.

Laura oversees a foster care office of 12 employees and over 40 foster families that work hard each and every day to ensure that the physical, emotional and developmental needs of the children and youth in our care are met. She holds a master’s degree in psychology with an emphasis on marriage, family and child counseling from California State University Los Angeles. Prior to coming to Trinity Youth Services in 1997, Laura spent five years working with abused and neglected children in residential treatment as a child care worker/counselor. Once at Trinity, Laura started as an intake worker and at one point managed the Long Beach foster care office. One of Laura’s favorite things about her current role is the opportunity to be involved in the local community through the Rancho Cucamonga and Victor Valley Chamber of Commerce.

Carlos works with foster care directors, social workers and certification specialists in recruiting resource families. His responsibility is to connect with potential foster/adopt parents and the community. Navigating the world of foster care and adoption can be daunting, but Carlos’ friendly and understanding nature helps put our resources families at ease. Carlos has 15 years of experience working in foster care in different capacities including program assistant and interpreter/translator. His recognitions include Bienvenidos FFA Interpreter/Translator of the Year 2000 and Bienvenidos FFA 10 Years’ Service Award.
