Roundtable Discussion with Assemblymember Robert Garcia
Assemblymember Robert Garcia is an educator, public servant, and proud son of immigrants, shaped by a deep commitment to education. Raised by hardworking parents who prioritized his learning, he became the first in his family to graduate high school. He earned a biology degree from UCLA and a master’s in public policy from USC, later pursuing a career in teaching.
With over 20 years in education, Garcia has served as a teacher and administrator, improving student outcomes. Elected to the Etiwanda School District Board in 2016 and re-elected in 2020, he led through the COVID-19 pandemic, earning state and national recognition.
Now in the State Assembly, Assemblymember Garcia was appointed by Speaker Robert Rivas as Assistant Majority Leader. Garcia’s commitment to education is driven by his belief in its ability to strengthen communities and create opportunities for all. It is this passion that led him to the State Assembly, where he aims to bring his experience and dedication to the Inland Empire.
